January 11, 2025

Glen Burnie Better Plaza Project Launches to Revitalize Town Center

The article reported that the public is invited to participate in the project by attending a Community Kickoff, on January 14, 2025, and by completing a community survey by February 3, 2025.

It featured the following quotes from Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and AAEDC President and CEO Amy Gowan, respectively:

“By teaming up with community leaders like Councilwoman Pickard and those who are passionate about revitalization, we’re making real progress in Glen Burnie. I’m looking forward to seeing the Glen Burnie Town Center become a community gathering place.”

“We chose Better Block for this project because they have a proven model for revitalizing public spaces in partnership with the community and a strong track record of doing so in cities across the nation. As leaders in grassroots urban design, we look forward to bringing their expertise to the Glen Burnie Town Center as we continue to invest in placemaking efforts that revitalize older commercial districts throughout Anne Arundel County.”

Finally, it featured a quote from Krista Nightengale, Executive Director of Better Block, and shared that community members can learn more about the project and participate in the survey by visiting betterblock.org/GlenBurnie.
