A Taste of Arundel Grown

A Taste of Arundel Grown, Arundel Ag’s signature annual event, celebrates local agriculture by showcasing food, beer, and wine grown and produced by Anne Arundel County farmers.

The event supports the Buy Local Challenge (BLC), an annual statewide initiative that encourages all Marylanders to support local farmers by purchasing locally produced farm products during “Buy Local Week,” the last week of July.

Hosted by Homestead Gardens in 2024, the annual event featured:

  • A one-of-a-kind menu featuring 12 delicious dishes made by Bread and Butter Kitchen owner and Chef Monica Alvarado using ingredients from 15 of Anne Arundel County’s farmers and producers.
  • Wine from Great Frogs Winery and beer from Pherm Brewing Company and Old Barn Brewery.
  • Brief remarks on the importance of buying local and supporting Anne Arundel County agriculture by County Executive Steuart Pittman, AAEDC President & CEO Amy Gowan, and AAEDC Agricultural Business Development Director Shelley Garrett.
  • And, with music from Kevin Lyon, plenty of great conversation and networking.

Plus, thanks to the generosity of the 36 diverse businesses and producers that sponsored the zero-waste event we were able to donate $1,000 to the Southern FFA and add funds to our Agricultural Business Improvement Grant (ABIG) program.
