AAEDC creates economic development strategies to support Anne Arundel County’s farm based businesses. We help market the county’s agri-businesses and engage the public to support locally grown, made, and produced products.
SUPPORT FOR FARM-BASED BUSINESSES
Are you are an agricultural producer needing assistance to grow your business? Need guidance to improve your operations, strengthen your business plan, or enhance your marketing? By providing business counseling, information, and training, AAEDC’s agricultural arm, Arundel Ag, helps find opportunities for success for agribusinesses.
Arundel Ag helps farm based businesses in the following ways:
- Technical assistance and advocacy
- Local and state regulations such as inspections, permits and zoning
- Operational support
- Financing through the VOLT Fund, which offers low-interest loans from $25,000 to $500,000 for expenses such as business and commercial real estate acquisition and expansion, lease-hold improvements, the purchase of equipment, and working capital.
- Promoting buying local, agritourism, and value-added processing by:
- Publishing the annual Arundel Grown Agriculture Guide, a directory of locally grown, raised, and produced goods, as well as on-farm offerings, that are available to the public in Anne Arundel County.
- Publishing the annual Anne Arundel County Farmers Markets Guide to help residents discover the many farmers markets where they can buy local throughout the year.
- Managing and marketing the Glen Burnie Farmers Market, which will take place on Thursdays from June 12 through September 11 (excluding June 19) from 4:00-7:00PM at the Glen Burnie Town Center.
- Entries to the 2025 Anne Arundel County Farmers Markets & Produce Stands Guide are due by April 16, 2025. Click here to submit your free listing!

- Applications for the Glen Burnie Farmers Market are due by March 31, 2025. Click here to submit your application!
Agriculture, Farming and Agritourism Commission: The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation is a member of this commission, which is made up of county government representatives and others in the county who are familiar with the aforementioned issues.
