Conduit Street, the official blog of the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo), covered the announcement that AAEDC and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman have launched the Digital Services Grant (DSG) in the following article:
Anne Arundel Offers $10K Small Business Grants
The article highlighted the purposeful timing of the grant’s launch in the following paragraph:
The Digital Services Grant is meant to aide businesses who were harmed as a result of having to go entirely virtual during the recent COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. As restrictions are lifted, the EDC wants to help businesses attract new customers. The roll out of this program comes just in time for the busy holiday season, when consumer spending has historically increased significantly.
Funded with $500,000 in federal American Recovery Act funds designated by the Maryland Department of Commerce, the program seeks to help small brick-and-mortar businesses and nonprofits in Anne Arundel County do business in an increasingly digital economy by offering grants of up to $10,000 for the new purchase of, or subscription to, digital platforms and services including email and mobile marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), customer rewards/loyalty, e-commerce (online ordering/sales), and website and social media advertising.
