Eye On Annapolis: Maryland Business Opportunity Center Awards $25,000 to Inclusive Ventures Program as March 2023 Cohort Graduates

May 28, 2023

Eye On Annapolis reported on the Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC) awarding a $25,000 grant to the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) to support its Inclusive Ventures Program (IVP) in the following article:

AAEDC’s Inclusive Ventures Program Receives Grant, Graduates Sixth Cohort

The article reported that the grant announcement came shortly after AAEDC CEO Amy Gowan presented certificates of completion and $5,000 checks to the sixth cohort of business owners to graduate from the IVP.

It included commentary from MBOC Executive Director Dr. Dana Hauanio-Lore, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, and Gowan, and listed each of the eleven graduates and his or her business.

Introduced by AAEDC in January 2021, IVP aims to help small and minority-owned, woman-owned, and Veteran-owned businesses in Anne Arundel County succeed and grow by providing their owners with a wide array of resources such as business education and training, access to capital, and mentorship.

Including the latest cohort, 65 total business owners have completed the program.
