Anne Arundel County’s history is rooted in its maritime industry and natural resources, particularly the water. With more than 500 miles of shoreline and nearby international airports and the Port of Baltimore providing access to global markets, Anne Arundel County’s maritime industry is a major driver of economic growth and stability. The maritime industry is the very fabric of our community and includes:

Recreational Boating

  • Marinas – Commercial and residential
  • Retail establishments including restaurants, marine supply stores, lodging, grocery and liquor stores
  • Boat dealers, brokers and boat shows
  • Public relations, marketing, and support businesses
  • Charter fishing, fishing from privately owned boats, and fishing from piers and shore

  • Sailing associations, yacht clubs
  • Boating education including summer sailing camps and boater safety courses
