Anita Dewling

Anita Dewling serves as Business Development Director for Healthcare, Restaurants, Manufacturing, Logistics, Transportation, and Warehousing at the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC), a role she has held for more than eight years. In this capacity, Anita works closely with both start-ups and established businesses and has supported thousands of companies across Anne Arundel County. Her work includes assisting businesses with site selection, access to capital, permitting navigation, workforce training funds, and staffing resources.

Anita is deeply engaged in the community and currently serves on several boards, including the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce (GSPACC), where she is involved in strategic planning efforts to better support the business community. She also serves on the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Tourism (HCAT) Advisory Board, helping to strengthen connections between educators and the restaurant industry to support workforce development.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, has completed 30 additional graduate-level credits toward a master’s degree in counseling, and maintains multiple certifications in business engagement and workforce development. A lifelong learner, Anita regularly pursues professional development opportunities. Her diverse professional background includes experience as a business owner, teacher, guidance counselor, and workforce development professional.

A lifelong Anne Arundel County resident, Anita lives with her husband and is the proud parent of three young adults. Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, travel, art, reading, and spending time with her family and two kittens.
