Wesley MacQuilliam

Wesley MacQuilliam serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC), where he leads operational strategy and drives organizational efficiency and excellence. He oversees AAEDC’s marketing and communications and business development teams and plays a key role in strengthening programs and expanding the organization’s impact across Anne Arundel County. With 15 years at AAEDC, Wesley has been instrumental in advancing the agency’s mission and growth.

A graduate of Virginia Wesleyan University, Wesley began his career in commercial real estate after earning his Maryland real estate license. He worked with a brokerage firm in Annapolis, where he developed a passion for supporting local businesses. That passion led him to join AAEDC in 2011 as a business development associate. Over the years, he has held several leadership roles within the organization and was ultimately promoted to become AAEDC’s first Chief Operating Officer.

Beyond his professional role, Wesley is actively engaged in the community and has served on several boards and commissions. His leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and as Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Commission on Government Innovation and Effectiveness.

A lifelong Anne Arundel County resident, Wesley lives in Millersville with his wife and four sons.
